Bishop Otubelu Juniorate is the brain child of the Rt. Rev. Prof. Evans Jonathan Ibeagha And Prof. Mrs Peace Ibeagha, his wife. The school was so named to immortalize the late Rt. Rev. Gideon Otubelu, who during this tenure as the Otubelu who during his tenure as the founding Bishop of the Enugu Diocese recorded giant strides up mission school in his dioceses, all aimed at expanding God kingdom here on earth.
Shortly after Prof Ibegha and his wifes assumption of the office as the pioneer Bishop of the dioceses of Nike, he felt a heavy burden for the youths (both within and without the Diocese). This feeling was born out of a deep concern for the dwindling education, especially in the public sector, and its consequent impact on the youths.
In order to redress this issue, it became expedient to set up a school that would mature these youths and also blaze the trail of qualitative education in Nigeria. Such a school would not only be academically based, but would also place much premium on the development of a total man. This dream finally came true on 6th October 2008, when classes commenced for the first batch of the students-twenty four in number the school population has since grow to 470 (four hundred and seventy), with 240 resisdent as borders in the spacious and international accepted boarding facilities. The rest are day students.
